How does a same day confirmed flight change work?

You may request a same day confirmed flight change any time during the check-in window for your flight. Your new flight must depart on the same calendar day as the original departure.

Request this flight change during registro por Internet, or iPhone/Android app check-in.

The change may also be requested by talking to an airport customer service agent, or by calling Alaska Airlines reservations.

How much does it cost to make a same day confirmed flight change?

For tickets purchased before May 25, 2025. Same-day confirmed changes for nonstop travel between Seattle and Portland or within California cost $25. All other same-day confirmed changes cost $50.

For tickets purchased on or after May 25, 2025. Same-day confirmed changes for nonstop travel between Seattle and Portland or nonstop intrastate travel cost $50. All other same-day confirmed changes cost $75. An additional $40 fee applies for Saver fares.

Select guests qualify for waived same-day confirmed change fees. Refer to "are there exceptions" section below.

Am I eligible to make a same day confirmed flight change?

To qualify for a same day confirmed change:

• You must be holding confirmed reservations and tickets for flights operated by Alaska Airlines issued on 027 ticket stock.
• You must request the change prior to the departure of your original flight.
• You must keep the same origin, destination, thru, and connection cities. Co-terminal changes are not allowed via self–service. Contact reservations for additional flight change options.

If the flight changes you'd like to make don't meet the qualifications above, normal change fees and restrictions will apply. Usted puede change your reservation online, or call our Alaska Airlines reservations team for help in making changes to your ticket.

Are there exceptions?

There are a few exceptions to this policy.

• The same day confirmed change fee is waived for customers booked in J (First), and Y (Coach) classes of service.
• For guests traveling on Main and First Class fares, the same day confirmed change fee is waived for MVP® Gold, MVP Gold 75K and MVP Gold 100K Mileage Plan™ members and American AAdvantage® ConciergeKey, Executive Platinum, and Platinum Pro members. The fee is also waived for those traveling in the same reservation.
• For guests traveling on group reservations same day confirmed changes must be made through the Group reservations desk. They cannot be made online or with an airport agent.
• Group reservations: 1-800-445-4435 | Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm PT; Saturday, 7:30 am - 6:00 pm PT
• If you are booked on our nonstop flights between Anchorage and Fairbanks, Seattle and Portland, or Seattle and Spokane, you also have the option of requesting free asiento en espera para el mismo día.
• Customers with refundable coach tickets or refundable first class tickets may request flight changes at any time for no change fee by visiting us online at alaskaair.com or by calling an Alaska Airlines reservations. If a seat cannot be confirmed on your desired flight, you may request same day standby. This applies to fare class J or Y.
