Your flight from San Francisco (SFO) will now leave from Oakland (OAK).

Why this departure change?

Weather, construction, and air traffic control restrictions can cause long delays at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Rather than delay or cancel your flight, we've chosen to fly out of Oakland (OAK) to save you time. Thank you for your patience and travel flexibility.

What happens next?

If you're already at San Francisco (SFO):

We offer complimentary shuttle service from SFO to the Oakland airport.*

  1. Head to the SFO ticket counter at least 2 hours before your new flight's departure. You'll receive a new boarding pass.
  2. Wait in the area across from the ticket counter. An agent will escort you to the shuttle in the lower courtyard.
  3. Bring your bags with you onto the shuttle. When your shuttle arrives at the Oakland airport, you'll check your bags at the check-in counter there.

Note: if you've already checked your bags at SFO, they will be returned to the baggage area at SFO. Reclaim your bags there and carry them with you onto the shuttle to Oakland airport.

*Be aware that Alaska Airlines operates flights out of both Terminal 2 and the International Terminal at San Francisco (SFO). Check your boarding pass carefully for gate and terminal information to make sure you head to the ticket counter area at the correct terminal.
