How will I know if my flight has been changed or canceled?
We recommend downloading our mobile app to keep apprised of any changes to your trip. You can also view your reservation at any time at alaskaair.com.
Schedule changes happen periodically throughout the year as we assess our guest and business needs. Your trip may experience more than one schedule change between the time you book your ticket and the day of flight.
As we respond to the Covid-19 crisis, flight schedules are being updated more frequently to accommodate varying regional travel requirements in addition guest demand as restrictions are changed or lifted.
If you booked directly with Alaska Airlines and a schedule change to your trip results in a significant difference of your departure or arrival time, or changes to your connection city, we will contact you prior to departure to make sure you have the correct information.
If you booked through an agency or other third party, please contact them directly for any assistance with your trip.
My flight was changed or canceled
Due to the drop in demand for air travel, we have significantly reduced our flight schedule. If your flight is affected by a schedule change or cancellation, we will move you to the next available flight.
If your new flight works for you, great! We'll see you onboard.
If your new flight schedule was changed by more than one hour, you have some options:
- Move to a different flight that better suits your schedule
- Cancel your trip online and receive a credit for future travel
- Contact us to cancel trip and receive a refund*
*Please note: To qualify for a refund to your original form of payment, you must have an active reservation on the impacted flight. If you voluntarily canceled your trip and received a future travel credit before the flight cancellation, you are not eligible for a refund.

Step 2: Select Cancel.
Step 3: Choose whether you prefer to receive your future travel credit via email or deposited into your account in My Wallet. (You can only receive future travel credit for canceled flights.)
We'll send you an email confirmation once the cancellation is complete.

Change your flight
Saver fare
Saver fares are not eligible for changes. However, you may cancel your trip for future travel credit without a fee.
Main or First Class fare
Step 2: Choose the flight you’d like to change.
Step 3: Select a new flight. Any difference in fare or credit due will be displayed on the right.
Step 4: Continue on to checkout to finalize the change(s).
We'll send you an email confirmation once the change is complete.
For companion fares
Step 2: Choose "make changes to this trip" and your companion discount will apply to your new flights.
Step 3: Choose the flights you'd like to change.
Step 4: Select new flights. Any difference in fare or credit due will be displayed on the right.
Step 5: Continue on to checkout to finalize the change(s).
