Alaska Airlines credit card FAQ
Get answers to our most commonly asked questions regarding our Alaska Airlines credit cards.
When will my new account bonus miles post to my Mileage Plan™ account?
Bonus miles will post to the primary cardholder's Mileage Plan™ account approximately 6 to 8 weeks after spending the required amount on purchases within 90 days from account opening.
Why didn't I receive the advertised amount of bonus miles?
Offers may vary based on the unique Alaska Airlines credit card product. Please refer to the offer details of the promotion.
When can I expect my Alaska Airlines credit card miles to appear on my account?
Alaska Airlines credit card miles post to your Mileage Plan™ account 7-10 days after the billing cycle for your credit card statement. The mileage credit given is dependent upon your amount spent on purchases during that particular billing cycle and not according to the payment amount made towards your bill. To view your mileage accrual, please sign into your My account.
My spouse and I share the Alaska Airlines credit card, but only one of us is receiving miles.
All qualifying miles from credit card spend are deposited in the primary cardholder's Mileage Plan™ account. Miles can be redeemed for tickets for anyone you want.
Will I earn miles for a balance transfer?
You will not earn miles for any balance transfers or cash advances made with your Alaska Airlines credit card account or for using the Bank of America-issued convenience checks.
Why aren't my miles posting?
- In order for your credit card miles to post to your Mileage Plan™ account, the name on your credit card must match the name listed in your Mileage Plan™ account. If you've updated or changed your name with your card issuer, please contact Alaska Airlines customer care at 1-800-654-5669 to have it updated in your Mileage Plan™ account. It is important to use your legal first and last name because your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™ account is linked to your legal forms of identification required for travel.
- If you didn't provide your existing Mileage Plan™ number during the Alaska Airlines credit card application process, one was automatically assigned to you. Check the number located under your name on your credit card. To combine or remove duplicate Mileage Plan™ account, please contact Alaska Airlines customer care at 1-800-654-5669.
Why were Alaska Airlines credit card miles subtracted from my Mileage Plan™ account?
If you purchased items with your Alaska Airlines credit card and later returned them, the miles you earned on those purchases will be deducted from your Mileage Plan™ account.
When is my credit card anniversary date? Or in other words, where is my new companion fare discount code?
Eligible Visa® primary cardholders whose accounts are open with active charging privileges on their account anniversary, will receive a companion fare discount code within the first 2 billing cycles after the anniversary date each year. The companion fare discount code will be posted to the primary cardholder's Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™ account.
How do I get my 50% discount on a Lounge day pass?
If you're an eligible cardholder, you can receive a 50% discount on Alaska Lounge day pass purchases made in person at the entrance of any Alaska Lounge, when you use your Alaska Airlines credit card as your method of payment. Each pass grants one person one-time access to an Alaska Lounge location and access is subject to space availability. Bank of America is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, Alaska Lounge amenities.
Cardholders cannot purchase multiple Alaska Lounge day passes using the 50% discount to save for future use. The discounted pass must be used at the time of purchase.
How do I get my 20% rebate on inflight purchases?
If you're an eligible cardholder, you can receive a 20% rebate in the form of a statement credit for purchases of food, beverages, and Wi-Fi Internet (from both Gogo and ViaSat) onboard Alaska and Alaska operated flights, when you use your eligible Alaska Airlines credit card as your method of payment.
The statement credit will post to the cardholder’s credit card account within 7 days from transaction posting date. To qualify for the 20% rebate, the cardholder's account must be open with active charging privileges at the time of the qualifying transaction.
