•  Church of the Holy Ascension Russian Orthodox Cathedral
  
  The onion-shaped domes of the Church of the Holy Ascension jetting into the vivid blue Alaskan sky are certainly an unexpected visual treat when visiting Unalaska. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970, the church preserves the Russian heritage of the area with its collection of books, artwork, artifacts, and icons.

•  Aleutian World War II National Historic Area Visitors Center
  
  One of the few episodes of World War II occurring on American soil, the bombing of Dutch Harbor and subsequent Japanese occupation of the Aleutian Islands is recognized at this visitors' center dedicated in 2002. The Unangan/Aleut people, many who lost their homes, lives, and rights when relocated by the U.S. government during the conflict, are also honored.
